Professional Biography

Lisa Moen is a Human Resources professional with years of experience working in a dynamic background of customer service and government services. Her experience is centred around working with people and helping the organization achieve their strategic goals and objectives. Her passion is providing HR solutions for clients by helping them build their HR infrastructure through thoughtful policy and procedure development, utilizing HRIS technology, ensuring compliance and developing people. Lisa also enjoys consulting with small businesses and those who are involved in non-profit organizations. Prior to launching her career in Human Resources, Lisa held several leadership positions in distribution and supply chain at Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, Cadets Canada, Krown Alliston and other small business organizations.
Working in large government agencies, Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation and Cadets Canada, has provided Lisa with invaluable experience dealing and working in government, and the experience of working within government budgets. Here she was able to work with a variety of important stakeholders such as the public, which has brought insight to the importance of resource management. Formal workplace and traditional hierarchal management structures allowed Lisa the opportunity to learn how to work within communication chains of command. With these tools, her strong work ethic, and the ability to adapt to a structured work environment she quickly received the opportunity to pursue leadership positions, becoming one of only 3 women to achieve full time status at the Nova Scotia Liquor distribution centre, focusing on union advocacy, employee engagement, and training. While working for Cadets Canada, Lisa was promoted after only one season to the Lead Hand position of civilian employees at the Quarter Master, overseeing 15 civilians and 30 military staff.  Her hard work and dedication to the strategic goals of the organization awarder her recognition from the base commander, and a commendation certificate.  
Lisa’s experience working in smaller organizations in her role of Business Administration at Krown Alliston, allowed her to round out her experience and develop skills in a micro business environment, while keeping the macro aspect of business in the forefront of all strategic business decisions. The greatest advantage of experience working in a small organization, is the ability to build relationships and develop a culture that fosters innovation and growth.
Lisa Moen holds an advanced diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources from Georgian College, Barrie Ontario, and is currently working towards her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree at Lakehead University in Orillia Ontario. Upon completion of the degree program, Lisa will achieve her designation of CHRL, Certified Human Resources Leader with the Human Resources Professional Association, HRPA. Lisa is an active member of the business organization ABIA, Alliston Business Association Initiative at a local level.
Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, reading and listening to music. As an active member in her community she volunteers for community events and fundraisers that the ABIA holds, this has helped to develop her technical and soft skills and allowed her an avenue to support and share her passion for local business initiatives. Lisa also enjoys mentoring up-and-coming HR professionals through peer mentoring, where she shares her knowledge and passion for HR.
